Sleep Paralysis / Old hag Syndrome / Karabasan AND Djinn

According to Islam Djnn is an invisible spirit mentioned in the Koran and believed by Muslims to inhabit the earth and influence mankind by appearing in the form of humans or animals.

  • In Arabic, a genie (also jinn, Djinn, from Arabic جني jinnī) is a supernatural creature which occupies aparallel world to that of mankind, and together with humans and angels makes up the three sentient creations of God (Allah). Possessing free will, a djinn can be either good or evil.

  • An invisible spirit that influences mankind by appearing in human or animal form; A supernatural being with extraordinary powers that usually takes a human form and serves its summoner

in Turkey and in many of islamic beliefs, Sleep Paralysis is called "Karabasan" which is very similar to the classic story of a demon visiting a person in sleep. Basically an islamic demon [(most commonly people say it is a Djin

Djin or or genies as their are numerous spellings are supernatural creatures in Arab folklore and Islamic teachings which occupy a parallel world to that of mankind. Together, jinn, humans and angels make up the three sentient creations of Allah. According to the Qur’ān, there are two creations that have free will[citation needed]: humans and jinn. Religious sources say barely anything about them; however, the Qur’an mentions that jinn are made of smokeless flame or "scorching fire".[1] Like human beings, the jinn can also be good, evil, or neutrally benevolent.[2]
The jinn are mentioned frequently in the Qur’an, and there is a surah entitled Sūrat al-Jinn in the Quran

  • Karabasan - Sleep paralysis is paralysis associated with sleep which may occur in normal subjects or be associated with narcolepsy, cataplexy, and hypnagogic hallucinations. The pathophysiology of this condition is closely related to the normal hypotonia that occur during REM sleep. ...

No matter which country or religion we find a name for the old hag syndrome which I have outlined and defined on my website.  What I am trying to do now is expand on those definitions to see what else is out there for us to compare these definitions to, as well as experiences.
